Keynote Luncheon Speaker:  Michael Calce

Hear first-hand from Michael Calce who, at age 15, brought down the world’s largest websites and caused $1.2 billion in damages by crashing the websites of Amazon, CNN, Dell, E*Trade, eBay, and Yahoo!.  His actions – which were eventually stopped following a major FBI sting operation – incited panic from Silicon Valley to the White House.  Michael Calce’s story is a captivating behind-the scenes tour of hacking and proof positive that its rapid evolution is making the internet the new frontier for crime in the 21st century.

Are you prepared for a cyber-attack?  Do you believe it is not likely to happen to your firm?

A U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission report released in February 2015 revealed that an overwhelming majority of broker-dealers and investment advisers surveyed had experienced cyber attacks. Eighty-eight percent of the brokers had faced attacks, compared with 74 percent of advisers.

The statistics are strongly suggesting that the question is not if you will be attacked, but when.

It is critical that firms be prepared to operate in this new threat environment.  There are steps you can take to make your firm more cyber-resilient and to be able to recover effectively should an attack occur.

The IIAC is pleased to present a full day conference with local and international experts to assist our members in protecting their firm and their clients.  Please join us for this important event which will provide you with practical information about how the financial industry is, and should be dealing with such threats. The day will end off with a networking reception.
