Description: The July 15, 2014 deadline for implementation of the Client Relationship Model Phase 2 (CRM2) is fast approaching. Other major changes will take effect in July 2015 and 2016. These changes include: pre-trade disclosure of charges, annual report on charges and other compensation and annual investment performance report.
“Dean of Bay Street” Fred Ketchen has partnered with the Investment Industry Association of Canada (IIAC) to host a session on what you need to know about the Client Relationship Model (CRM). Susan Silma, a regulatory architect of CRM, will speak on the ‘why’ and the ‘what’ of CRM’s two phases – CRM1 and CRM2. Your firm will tell you the ‘how’ of CRM2, based on your firm’s business model, and what your firm will do to help you. And Mario Frankovich, CEO at Burgeonvest Bick Securities Limited, and an IIAC Director and Chair of the IIAC’s Small Dealers Committee, will answer the CRM2 questions you or your clients may have. He’ll also provide a brief perspective on turning the challenges that accompany big changes like CRM2 into positives you can use as you chart your plan for success.
